Hmm, I thought DVXUSER consisted of every level of filmmaking experience possible, from the absolute day-one beginner to people like myself who have been reading, practicing, and living on these boards for about 9 months. So, to answer the question, I for one didn't know about that editing technique, which yes it seems so obvious now, but is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for posting these tips, look forward to seeing more!

Nice little feature!

However.... it really annoyed me how the name bar covered Peter John Ross's chin.:)

I once new about the cutting on movement thing, I'm sure, then I forgot :). I then recently did some editing the other day and rediscovered the technique :0 I really need to to more editing so I don't forget these simple things.

I was taught cut out on 38% (of the way through the movement), cut in on 33%, but I don't like the whole repetition of movement - IMO a straight 33-33% cut is best.

I know we've already got enough forums around here, but it seems like it would be appropriate to have a dedicated forum under NLE's that is specific to the Art of Editing and is completely NLE agnostic... probably wouldn't get much traffic so I guess the Café will have to do.
