Indie Film Screening in an iPad App?

Would any filmmakers on this forum be interested in getting their shorts, music videos, or docs in an iPad App? My idea is pretty simple, kinda like a co-op: I provide the iPad App and charge an affordable fee to show your work for a designated amount of time. The actual App would be FREE to download from the Apple App Store, I would of course promote it and I would assume anyone with included content (or interest) would do the same.

Pretty simple, straight forward idea (hopefully) without complications...

Who's interested?

Can we please limit comments to those interested only. While everyone is entitled to voice their opinion, I don't wanna cloud this thread with "I don't like your idea" comments.

If you don't want opinions, why did you post it?

This is a forum, right?

Loosen up.

I posted to see who WAS interested, not who WASN'T.

With that said, you've voiced your opinion and yet you're still here involved in a conversation/idea that you seem to think won't work. Why is that?

SMDH...

Anyone interested is welcome to PM me and we can discuss. I have no intent to go back and forth with Pookie - I have better things to do.

A forum is a fancy place where ideas are usually bounced back and forth. Pookie presented a legitimate concern. You didn't like it. This isn't a place for "Let's make Littleton feel happy about his idea". You participate in a feedback loop. One which you clearly don't want to participate in. In my opinion, anyone who was interested in said service will no longer be interested in due to the way you take feedback.

Also, since I am talking about a feedback loop...what's in it for the filmmaker? Why give you money to release an app for free? Is it ad supported? Who gets revenue? How large will the app be? Will it take near a gig for a full feature? Probably. Will people download an app that large? Is the app the filmmakers? Or yours? If it's yours, do you hold exclusive rights to the content for the designated amount of time? Are the rights non-exclusive? Can a filmmaker pull the app at any given time if they want to?

Things you have to think about, this is why forums exist. They provide feedback loops. One that you enter into the moment you post a public comment.

I don't know. A 'film festival' on the internet doesn't actually feel like a film festival to me. Do these things get popular?

Zaza, do you even update that thing anymore?
Wow... nice. Real work gets in the way of the fun stuff sometimes...all in good time.

Does that answer your question?
