Indiana Jones - Treasure of the Templars Trailer!

"This is the story of a younger Indy and a quest that involves the treasure of the Knights Templar. This full length mini epic was shot off and on over the last few years in multiple countries yet only had a shoe-string budget consisting of little more than the passion of its crew. Keep checking in to TreasureOfTheTemplars.com for the feature film’s release in 2007."

Entered into Speilbergs On The Lot contest.

On The Lot is too crappy to view anything. I dare say that YouTube is better than that place.

Ironically, it looks better than most of the stuff on DVXuser. LOL. I think if I watched this i'd get over the 24p issue and enjoy a rather nice short fan film.

Congrats on a great product, guy. How much was your budget???

"No budget, just a lot of drive."

Read the post. Says SHOE-STRING budget. Everybody's got their own definition of that, but apparently they had one.

How does one pull a tomb like that out of a shoestring budget?

Costumes and props and production design seem better than shoestring.

I wish people said their real budget... it's nothing to be ashamed of.

I agree. Its like in life when you people avoid telling you how much they paid for something. Particularly on a community like this information such as budgets would be very informative for many users.

Much of the film was shot in true 30p on the XL2.
----
Its a feature length film and have been told out of pocket was $7,000.
----
Because this is a fan film made by fans the props and period costumes were made or owned by some of the crew who also donated their time and talent.
----
No profit will be made from this film to avoid copyright issues. The film was created simply because everyone involved loves the spirit of the Indiana Jones films.
----
Minus some set miniatures that need to be shot. The film is in the final stages of post. Some CG still remains and a original sound track is also currently being scored.

I shot some of the scenes in this film and it was as fun to work on as the film's story itself. A truly great example of what a bunch of passionate filmmakers can do when they work together. The power of networking beats technology and budget limitations - everytime.

If you know someone that would love to watch this film send them the link. Perhaps your help will lead to something in the future for the hard working actors and crew who deserve to be recognized for putting so much time into this project. Thanks guys

Awesome info dude. Is it too much to ask you guys to go over your process for shooting and compositing minis?

come on man! How can you say that that movie looks better and most of the stuff in this website, I wouldn't compare that to Mcgregors work or some others out there. Now if we're talking about story then that's another "story". it looks entertaining. Good job!

Alright, here we go again. Lately any time someone posts a trailer that has better than usual production values, it turns out to be for The Lot. They claim to have made their trailers for nothing more than a bit of pluck and a lot of drive. Something's going on here. Never mind that "The Lot" has the creepy, vampiric foreboding of a Stephen King schlep.

BTW - profit has nothing to do with copyright infringement, but I guess if you're making your Spielberg homage for a Spielberg project, it might be overlooked.

The miniatures are going to be shot next week. The plan right now is to light it to get a f16 so that the DOF is a natural as possible at that scale. We will be documenting the process and should post it at the website

Hi Bus No.8. Thank you for posting. I took the time to learn about your film christiania. Sounds like a powerful story. If you would like to learn more about our film and some of the budget saving techniques we used please take a moment to read up the wealth of information at www.TreasureOfTheTemplars.com

A lot of time was spent documenting the behind the scenes of the film for the benefit of others. I would love to hear if you found the information useful.

Sorry, macgregor does not count as MOST of the stuff on DVXuser. My opinion still stands. And I said, it does LOOK better than most of the stuff around here. As in this doesn't look like someone crapped it out over the weekend.

Please see: wardrobe, location, production values in general.
