GH4 in variable frame rate mode: shutter speed turns into db???

I haven't found out the solution to this yet. But when I enter variable frame rate mode on the GH4, I no longer have access to shutter speed control. I see "db" in its place instead. Am I missing some menu setting?

Thanks very much in advance for any help.
