In March 2015, what is your choice camera for $3500 shoot ready?

Just curious if you had to buy a camera for a shoot this week, and your budget was $3500 shoot ready.

What would YOU buy?

For Narrative - short or feature - Black Magic Cinema Camera.

For Documentary, product, sports, corporate - Canon 5D3, Nikon D750, or any $3,500 video camcorder.

For $3500? :undecided I wouldn't buy yet. I'd keep using my AF100, while saving up for something like a Cion or FS7.

Oh, you mean if you didn't have any camera already? Well, maybe a GH4, and use the leftover money for lenses, tripod, and lights.

Samsung NX1, spend the rest on lenses.

Looks really nice:

Unless you're willing to give up internal 4K and really really want the insane low light of the A7s, then I'd go for the A7s instead.

GH4 would be my third place choice. Which funnily enough might be my personal first place choice however and be the one I get next.... but only because I already have a lot of micro four thirds glass already! Plus it is the cheapest of the three.

A7s still has most of those cameras beaten in all the categories that really matter and can do 4k with a recorder later on. Only thing might be for theatrical release maybe BMCC would be nice for the ProRes/raw internal recording and nearly comparable DR. Of course you could get the job done with a gh4 or nx1 but certain scenes would just be much harder with the lower DR and less flexible gamma curves.

What if I was to ask the same question but "sport shoot" specific, and the camera would be recording for hours?
