In-line plug through power switch?

So I have my cool light's CL-255 on a heavy duty Bogen boom arm, which puts the unit's power switch about 8' off the ground. I wanted to find a power switch that I can insert between the fixture's plug and the stinger - literally just an on-off switch that I can stick between the chords. Anyone know of anything?

I found a pic of something that conveys the basic idea (although this is actually an adapter for foreign outlets):

Anyone know of anything or where I can find one? Thanks!

Hi,

I just answered your email as well. I don't know of anything you can just plug into that has a switch on it (other than your normal surge protector multi-outlet type thing), but we have an inline switch on the site which you could wire onto the 255 plug.

I've made stuff like this - an electrical junction box with a switch, and an extension cord cut into it, with male and female ends sticking out top and bottom, and the 1/2" nomex clamps. I've made dimmer boxes like this (standard household dimmers go to 600w, and you can get 1k's for a little more). Ten bucks in parts and you're good. Or just go to the hardware store and get a small power strip and tape it to a stand.
