Ok so ever since i saw (somewhat recently) Hunter Richard's free lensing vid on Vimeo I have loved that effect. I uust used it on a music video couple weeks ago. you guys know some other in camera Cinematography effects that can be achieved without some crazy $. I'd love to delve into some more.

nb.I know split diopters also but haven't tried it as yet...i'll have check that out.

Double exposure can be very cool, though I don't know if it can be done on a digital video camera; using film I had an entire portfolio of doubled and tripled work for product stills - but I used the technique to produce unordinary shadows, silhouettes and highlight shapes. I do plan to experiment with it in super 8 or 16mm this fall.

Vignettes (using a matte box) are cool; high-key vignettes (can be done with white paper and a dedicated light) are very cool and not often seen.

Selective diffusion (vaseline on glass being the most thought of, but there are many possibilities).

Crappy glass, trashed lenses (I shot a music video on a DSLR with a Holga lens; did another with a crappy super-wide adapter that had some beautiful CA and focus issues)

Shooting with un-mounted lenses (on a Canon, hold a Nikon lens or a cheap plastic lens over the lens opening - let a lot of light leak through, even direct a light for this purpose)

Home-brew tilt & shift lenses (lots of DIY plans out there, or get a LensBaby)

Forced lens flares, especially with junk glass can be beautiful; set up your shot and lighting so you'll get some heavy flares;

Triple exposed product shot on 320T and then hand-duped to Velvia 8x10 - zero photoshop work, all in-camera:

You can also try cutting out a star or any other shape for that matter, stick it behind your lens and open your lens all the way up. The star or the shape that you've cut out will now act as the aperture and all your bokeh will be shaped as such.
