Disclaimer: For color accurate work you should always use calibrated equipment and the best color accurate monitor you can afford, but I have to say I just got this amazing new Dell UP2716D monitor and after a calibration it's a real great match to my Flanders Scientific. not the same, but very very close.

Dennis, in what ways does it differ to your FSI (and which model FSI monitor do you have)? Curious about comparable black levels etc if your FSI is an OLED?

I have the CM171 http://flandersscientific.com/CM171/tech-specs.php It's small but accurate and I sit about 18" inches away from it ;) CM171 has RGB LED backlight and color is larger than REC709. LCD. 10-bit.

The Dell is similar: also LCD, LED backlight, 100% Adobe RGB, 100% sRGB, 100% REC709, 98% DCI-P3. IPS. ‎8-Bit+FRC.

No idea about black levels and will test some more, but for me so far the image color, contrast, brightness, blacks very close.
 
I just used an ICC profile through the OS for the Dell, but this is not the recommended way if you actually wanted to use the monitor for accurate color. I'm only using it as my GUI monitor and was happy it was pretty close to my dedicated color monitor.

If you want to just use the Dell as a dedicated color monitor you'd have to get a decklink card for your machine and then feed it to LUT box where you load your calibration LUT and then to the monitor. To create your calibration LUT you'd use something like the i1 Display Pro and calibration software.
