Importing to FCS

I'm in the process of editing a project me and my friends have been working on. I want to take a clip fro YouTube and rip a DVD from my collection for the piece. Does anyone have a suggestion for free software that will take YT clips and rip DVDs and import them to FCP 7?

Firefox has a videodownloader extension. Mac Ripper can rip footage from DVD. You can convert them into a edit friendly codec in MPEG Streamclip

Not to criticize, but using clips from Youtube probably isnt the best road to go. YT clips are using in a H.264 codec and u can't improve quality through transcoding

That's what i'm afraid of, mmka1985. I know the quality is going to be the worst. I thought about just ripping DVDs and using the footage I need. YT seemed to be less time consuming and some of the clips I need I don't have on DVD. I read that MTR isn't what is used to be in terms of being unable to rip newer DVDs. Is this true?

U can take the Video_TS from the dvd and just convert it into an edit friendly codec using MPEG Streamclip
