importing scene files...

Hi all,

I'm having a bit of trouble importing some scene files I have been given. I was e-mailed the set of folders with the .txt file at the end of the list. I formatted a 32MB SD card in the HVX, put that card into a card reader, copied the whole lot across to the card, put the card into the HVX.

I then went into the menu > card functions > scene file > yes > read > yes

The result is 'no file found'.

I used the same process with the same card, card reader, same everything to update the firmware earlier tonight and that worked fine.

Any help would be great.

Have you got the scene files in the right directory on your SD card? They need to go in: PRIVATE/MEIGROUP/PAVCN/SGB/P2SD

If you've got them in there and still no luck, try trashing them and copying them across again. I copied the scene files from Barry's HVX CD to my SD card and initially the 1st one just wouldn't load up. Once I trashed Scene1 and reloaded it, everything was fine.

If the files aren't true text files or are missing identifying information at the top of the file, they will also not load.

Open up the file in a true text editor (not something that applies formatting to text), and check if the file looks similar to this:

Thanks all.

It was a really simple thing. In the second line of code it defines the type of camera - I just changed that to my specific model and all was okay!

I know have some really cool scene files to play with - thanks guys.

Scene files are cool and everything. But it would be so much more interesting if we could save the WB settings and save those to a card.

I suggested adding WB to the scene file before, and the general response was "why?"

There are some indoor locations where I have shot quite a bit, and I would love to be able to have a scene file for those locations with a WB setting (in Kelvin or a one-touch WB result) that gives me consistent results.
