importing P2 without in and out marks

Greetings,

I have a couple of P2 cards worth of data that I can't get to import into FCP as they were pulled out of the camera while they were still recording.. instead of pulling out the card that was full. Hence, there's no in and out on the camera and it was a live event so the cameras kept going and I couldn't repair the clips on the spot. Is there a way to add in the in and out points, or copy the data back to a card, repair the clip and then import it? I'll have to borrow the cards again as they are larger than I have. I'm hoping to be able to salvage the clips as I have the card data.. but in FCP I don't get the preview screen and I can't import them even though the clip shows up, it won't play and I can't get any info on it.


I'm sure others have had this happen. Any and all info appreciate. The footage isn't life threatening if I can't get it, but it would certainly help to have the clips. If i'm not too clear on what happend.. it's just that the card that should have been popped out when it was full wasn't, and the blank card that was supposed to be was.. Cheers for any support.

Copying the data back to a card will work fine as long as you've got the last clip file.. and even then you can recreate those.

Whether or not the camera will allow you to clip repair is another story. But its worth a try if you can get hold of the bigger cards.
 
Thanks Joe, I thought that might be possible but I wasn't able to delete certain things on the card. I'm going to give this a try this weekend.
