Importing new fonts

I recently downloaded some fonts that I would like to use in both photoshop and word. Actually, if I could use them in FCP, that would be cool as well. Anyway, I dragged them to my Fonts folder (I'm on a Mac), but then they just disappear and don't show up as an option in PS.

Any Suggestions?

Thanks

There are TWO places where you will find a FONTS folder on a Mac. One is under your user directories, and the other is on the root directory of the MACINTOSH HD...you need to make sure that you're putting your fonts in the Macitosh HD>Libraries>Fonts folder. If you put them under your user directory, they won't show up :)

You might also want to look and make sure that the files you're putting into the Fonts folder are all the way unzipped and everything. Just today I freaked out cuz I put a new font in, and it didn't show up...turns out I never Unzipped it.

Also, try fontfreak.com for a bunch of free fonts...that's where I get all of mine.

Double click the fonts if they're zipped ( .sit ). If that doesn't work, try updating your stuffit app. .

What folder are you dragging them into ?

HD - User - Library - Fonts

Or

HD - Library - Fonts

Remember to restart your computer. :)

That did it. I was dragging them to the wrong folder.

And thanks for the tip on font freak. Great stuff!
