Importing FS-100 footage into Avid MC 5

Hey all,

We recently shot a doc with the fs100 in 1080 24p and we will be using avid 5.

A few questions:
What project settings do I need in the avid to import, as far as frame rate. Does fs100 24p need pulldown...
I will be importing directly into avid from the mts files as dnxhd 145.

Also,
I have quite a lot of footage shot in slow mo that is mixed in with my 24fps footage.
When importing, I select the whole file of mts footage to import, be we also have slow mo footage contained in those files and obviously does not match the frame rate of the 24p project so avid gives me a pop up telling me that it's different frame rates and won't import, so I say "ok" and it continues to import the next file.
Is there a way to tell the avid to just import the 24p stuff and then set up a seperate project for the slow mo footage and just do those shots.

I hope I don't sound too confusing, I need any help I can get.

I have 6.5 now, so i may be a bit fuzzy on v5.... and i don't drive a Avid usualy, i do own a few and use them when needed tho

Avid does not need pulldown - the i/O box's do that in hardware if needed to screen on an NTSC display

I use Dnx36 for off-line, then re-capture at 1:1 -or- DNx175 for finishing

Select 709 for input and it will capture full range, then use autobalance in the cc to make the images look decent for off-line

match your project frame rate to the camera's shooting rate

I would not use 145, it is not high enough quality to match the strengths of the long GoP compression of the camera's internal recorder, so you get the worst of all... temporal artifacts from long GoP, compression artifacts from serial re-compression...

try the Avid foum here;
