I was just wondering if there was anything i should know before i try this. I will be importing directly from the camera into final cut pro on my mac. was just wondering if there is anything that needs to be done. all footage is recorded in 24p mode. thank you. (sorry if this is a silly question, i'm brand new to this camera)

Thank you

Consider getting a cheaper camera (one that can deal with timecode and has s-video out) or a deck instead of using your camera. You can use your camera for short term but it does put wear and tear on it.
Make sure you have foirewire cables setup and whatever camera in VTR mode when you start up. Sicne it's in 24p mode just capture it normal for DV NTSC 48k audio.

this is my cheaper camera... the dvx100a is just a back up... i was only running footage out of the camera because my editor has the deck and i'm on a serious time constraint... thank you for your advice
