Importing for P2 Store into FCP and loosing frames/speeding up

When I import occasionally to FCP 5, there are some clips that cannot import correctly and the clip speeds up, looses frames but the audio plays at the same rate. Are the clips corrupted from the P2 Store or has anyone had similar issues resolved?
 
I had the same problem when importing 720 24PN footage. I was able to resolve it (though not explain it) by opening the 'import panasonic p2' import window, going into 'import preferences' and DESELECTING the check box next to 'remove advanced pulldown and duplicate frames'. After that, i was able to re-import the funky clips no problem. The clue to me that the clips weren't themselves corrupt was that they played back fine in the preview window. (this is FCP 5.1.2, btw). Hope this helps.
