Importing 720/30PN into FCP 4.04

I have a few questions which follows up on the previous post. I'm bringing footage shot at 720/30p native into fcp. When I do an Import P2, it only shows the clips on one of the cards. Why??? It looks like only one of the drives is mounting at a time. I was on someone elses computer and had not tested it yet on my own. Is there some driver on the cd that fixes this?

Question 2: What are the sequence settings to use when bringing this clip into the timeline so that I don't get the red bar. I found settings for DVCPROHD 720/60 but there is no 30p compression settings. What is the correct compression settings to use in the Sequence Settings. This is 30p native so I shouldn't have to do any reverse-pulldowns or anything. I was expecting a compression preset that had this very setting, could I have missed it?

Any help would be appreciated.

Did you mean FCP 5.04? I don't know if there was a 4.04, but if there was, you can't use it. HD support wasn't added until 4.5.

It should show all cards that are currently loaded, IINM. Right now I only have one card so I can't answer as to why it wouldn't show more.

I haven't tried a 720/30p sequence so I don't know the answer to that one. I do believe Evin Grant (evinsky) shot his ProFlowers.com spot in 30pN, so you might send a private message to him to ask him this question.

In your easy setup menu under Final cut pro just select "DVCPRO HD 720P30"
And your project will be ready to go. If you already made a timeline just delete the sequence and create a new one. It's that simple.
Hope it helps.

Great, thanks very much Barry and Evin. I'll post a follow up when I can test it again and resolve both issues.
