Importing 60i into FCP

Sorry if this has already been discussed, I couldn't find anything on it. I shot a couple sequences in 60i for a music video and I was wondering what the best way to capture this into final cut is?

I just used the log and transfer in FCP to import all the clips off of my SD card and everything looks great except for the clips shot at 60i. They all look very "interlacy" in the motion you can really see all the horizontal lines.

Is there a way to fix it? What do you guys do?

you shot interlaced...that's why the footage looks "interlacy". What is happening is that you are looking at interlaced footage in a progressive monitor (LCD). If you play it on an interlaced set you wont see the lines in the footage.

Is there are reason you shot interlaced? You can always try to de-interlace the footage in final cut pro using the de-interlace tool...I forget exactly which menu item this is under, but if you can't find it you can always do it in cinema tools. The results wont be as good as shooting progressive to begin with though.

See if this helps, change the field dominance, .....select the clip - right mouse click - item properties - format - field dominance ....

I'm pretty sure the af100 only shoots 60i not 60p. Does it not?

30p and 60i are the same framerate (29.97 frames per second)—one has progressive frames, the other is interlaced fields.

The AF100 does indeed shoot 1920x1080 at 60p in VFR mode, but that is for over cranked shooting. No audio is recorded by the camera in this mode.
