hi guys, I have a problem ( I think )
Could someone please post a picture of the dvx100a with the open mini dv tape port? one top and side view..

I think something broke on mine, since it opens I think a little bit 2 wide!!!!

Urbanfx, does the cover rocket open when you eject a tape? Is it the cover or the actual tape port that you think is a bit 2 wide?

does no one of you guys have a webcam where you can take a quick picture and post it? please guys help me out :(

my cover rockets open. Didn't think it started out that way, but one day it seems like it was slamming open (when I eject now, I gently apply resistence so it doesn't fly open). Was starting to think that my impression of a slower and gentler opening mechanism was my imagination.... How does yours open?

exactly like you are describing it hemi, it feels like the door would just jump out like a rocket.. and it makes some little scratching noise when I put it back in again

Unless mine is busted as well, i don't think you have anything to worry about. When the cover is open it should measure about 2.5 inch. away from the camera. The fact that it slams open so hard is somthing i have been concerned about sence i got the camera. Is it better to just let it slam open or apply some resistance? I don't know. :-/
