Important question (I'm confused)

I've bought the dvx100b off the internet, and I was so excited. I got it for $1,419. A great price. You go to shopcartusa, and look at the list of prices. I just called the company to confirm my payment and he said the one I bought cost less because it was the INTERNATIONAL one. What the hell is that supposed to mean? He said it wasn't as good in quality as the ones sold in the U.S. This better not be true. The product discription said nothing of it. What does this mean? When I buy something I don't want it to be half-assed. I want the real deal. Did I get ripped off? Please help me out guys because spending a grand and a half on a camera is just a lot and it sucks to know your receiving a product thats not full quality.

Despite the fact that it probably wont come with all the accessories that the legit, U.S. version comes with (dont ask what, I dont know. BUt you'll find out when/if your camera shows up) it means you dont get any sort of warantee with it. It's probably also a PAL cam.

Well, I know from past stories of stores selling cameras at "unbelievably low prices" is that they'll sell you just the camera unit, which means, no battery, no cables, no anything, just the camera itself. They make their money off selling that stuff seperately, and usually, if you won't buy any of it (say for instance you some how already have all that), then they'll throw your camera on back order.

But that's other stores, I don't know how the one you ordered from operates. But you should only buy from stores that have been certified by panasonic to sell DVX's.

I'd call your credit card company and tell them what's going on. They can usually protect you if you tell them that fraud is involved.

Sorry but even for Gray Market thats incredibly cheap. I suggest the camera may have something wrong with it.

I doubt its PAL also as usually (too bad for pal users) they are a little more expensive. Id suggest from HK, China, Japan etc. But has an issue.

Get out if you can.

the site is Royal Camera, lots of my friends have bought from them and say its a great site with great prices. In these last 5 days the price of the dvx went up $50 then $400 from the same site! ShopCartUsa reccomends them as well. I called again and they said its only taking long (shipping) because its out of the country. Should I really cancel the order? Theres no way they'd sell me a broken oone or something, i'm paying quite a bit.

I don't think you could find a USED DVX100B for that price. The old adage still holds true: if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.

Royal Camera is located in Brooklyn

While I am sure there MIGHT be one camera shop in Brooklyn (actually, I'm NOT sure) there is no way I'd purchase ANYTHING from a camera store in Brooklyn.

Do everything you can to cancel the order. If they don't let you, call your credit card company and tell them what's going on.

I'm calling my credit card company right now, i'm on hold. I'm gonna tell them to stay on the look out so ROYAL CAMERA doesn't transact any thousands of dollars. Those cun*s. Thanks a lot guys, if only i knew about resellerratings.com before hand.

THANK GOD. Alright, check this out. I read everyones reviews about ROYAL CAMERA, this place is miserable. I couldn't believe it. So I had to find a way to convince the owner, he's the one who answers the phone, he's a brooklyn son of a b!tch who is so rude and vulgar. I had to cancel my order without anything going wrong. So I planned out what I'd say lol. I read all the reviews about how people had the worst customer service experience of their lives with this company(the owner would start swearing that he'd find and kill one customer). This is what I called and said, he went quiet as I said this. Lots of people call him to cancel orders so there was suprise in his tone. I made up the story i'm about to tell him.

ME: "Hi, I uh....I placed three orders on three cameras that you guys are going to ship me. The thing is two of them happen to be better than the other panasonic dvx one, so is there a way to cancel that? I mean, the first two are great but not the panasonic one isn't something I want."

OWNER: "Call extension 200 at 11:00 a.m. they'll help you"

Now i call extension 200. EXT 200 is supposed to connect you to the scam artist (the owner) who swears at you and throws all these deals and forces you to buy things you don't need. But now, I have to convince her not to throw me back to the owner so i say...

ME: (same thing I told owner about buying 3 cameras and only wanting 2).

LADY: Have you spoken to the 1800 number. (OWNER)

ME: yes, he reffered me to you, he said you'll take care of it.

LADY: oh...........(b!tch has NEVER had this happen to her. she's used to connecting people with the scam artist) oh....so...he said ....you talked to him?

ME: yes, i did. He said go to ext. 200.

LADY: .(hesitant).....Ok, .......last name is Abdallah?

ME: Yes.

LADY: well, uh...yes o.k. its cancelled

ME: (small smile)

I shut the phone, broke into dance and now i'm either buying the camera from NEWEGG.com or ProView Digital. Wow, thanks a lot guys, I had no clue, and if i didn't come here they would've kept charging my card and screwing me over.

Glad you got out of that. I don't know about Proview Digital, but Newegg is fine. My friend just ordered a 100B from there about a month ago and got the book and software, and his rebate is being processed. Then again, Jan has said that it can be hit and miss. But I'd trust it. Anyway, glad you got out of that scam.
