impedance hand mic

In the specification of the HPX300 there are no numbers on the impedance of the XLR input. Is an electrovoice RE50 N/D-B (omni interview) mic which has an impedance of 150 Ohm suitable for the HPX???

What should the impedance be for a headphone ?

I have that same mic (RE50) and I can tell you it works fine. I never did understand the different impedance numbers... Someone enlighten us...

Are you satisfied with the RE50 as an interview microphone? Does it pick up a lot of surrounding noice since it is an omni? Is it also suitable for singing? Just interested in your opinion. I read on internet that in the US it is the "work horse" of interview microphones so it must be good.

Almost every TV reporter uses it on TV... that's why I got one years ago. I did have a friend once who put it side-by-side a cheaper Samson mic that had a cardioid pattern, and the Samson DID have less background noise than the RE50... so it's probably not the best in a loud room, but I love it. It's also bullet proof - you can drop it on the ground and it will still work. Also - it's shock-isolated, so holding it makes very little noise. And last but not least, it works in VERY high wind situations with no foam cover needed.
