I was playing around with iMovie 11 and someone asked if you HAD to use iMovie to archive your footage. Turns out you do not.
If you create a folder and copy the full SD contents of this folder (DCIM, MISC, and Private folders) iMovie will read this directory and import your footage as a legitimate "iMovie Archive".
Yeah! I love it when it is easy.
