IMDB Page

To this day I think people are rating that film and bringing my rating down. My film was ranked at 8.5 now it's 4.5. And at the time my ranking started to plummet the amount of people voting didn't equal the amount of people who'd bought the film.

other films or actors can bring your rating down on projects?

Yes, if they rate your film instead of the film they think they saw. The only "Nathyn Masters" on IMDB is me. So they look for my name and the film, but that search will take you to my "Wages of Sin" movie. The director of the other WOS is someone else but all over the internet my name is attached to the horror film because of sloppy handling. So people rate my film versus the one they saw.

are there any other data bases?

what about after someone pays the fee and joins imdb, can they correct the info about themselves then?

So the lesson here is to take a screenshot of your IMDB page every time you update it. Don't just link to it. That way you'll have proof if the horrible happens to you.

Yep take screen shots and then add them to a Flickr album or something else you can point people to if there are problems.

Ok so recently a short film of mine was selected for Cinefest (which is a recognized by IMDB as a credited festival) Is there anyway to get my page up there? Or do I have to continue making films until one day it shows up?

Regarding getting titles listed, apparently you also get points for merely submitting your film to festivals through withoutabox, believe it or not. I shot a SAG short that screened publicly at a commercial theater where they advertised and sold tickets, and yet IMDb would not accept the title.

And yet there are SLEWS of first film short titles for unfinished films that get accepted. SLEWS.

Someone mentioned to me that having IMDb Pro gets your titles listed also, but I think it's a combination of things as mentioned that get titles listed and it is very strange indeed that unfinished titles get listed just because someone submitting the title plays the IMDb game.

My most recent film, Vida, has been added to IMDB purely because I submitted to the CFC through without a box. It's that simple.

Yeah we had a lot of problems initially just getting everyone listed, but specifically anyone who hadn't done *that specific job* before on a film. Like my actors mostly got listed quickly, especially the ones who had done other fairly big shows or movies (even though they were bit parts), but one of my actresses who helped with producing it had never received a credit for producing so it took some time for them to add her. The same happened with anyone else like myself who hadn't ever been credited on IMDb before for anything. So now I have my one credit for my one short that I want listed, haha. Any other shorts I worked on before were never sent anywhere and I'm frankly thankful they won't be listed. I like it that my first and only entry is something I'm actually proud of haha. Plus I've also done various other work here or there, crew stuff, where I never got credited and I'm happy for that too. I only want to be credited as a writer / director, nothing else, so it's good it doesn't show I was a grip on some random project or held a boom mic on something else, haha.

I'm curious about how to get control of my IMDB profile, or, more specifically, what kind of account I need to have in order to link my IMDB to my Without a Box.

I just registered to Without a Box, and am going to be submitting some shorts to festivals through it, and would love to have them linked so the shorts might have a chance of getting listed (I'm still not clear on what it takes to get shorts listed...).

Here's my IMDB:
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3050069/

Can anybody tell me what I need to do in order to get a username and password associated with that account, and then be able to link it to Without a Box? Do I need to buy IMDB Pro? Resume?

This is ENDLESSLY confusing. I really appreciate any help folks can offer.

My last production created another page for my name, and now it looks like there are two of us. I can't figure out how to group the two or erase one. Its been very frustrating. I even have an imdb pro account.

Yeah - I've wondered if that happened to folks...I'm almost assuming it's going to happen to me, since there are many projects I've worked on that I expect will soon show up on IMDB...

I'm hesitant to get a Pro Account or a Resume account until I learn exactly which, if either, are necessary in order to have any control over your public profile/filmography.

A production company created two versions of me. I asked imdb to erase one of them (by updating the film page and telling them the reason to erase the name) and within one day it was gone.

Anybody able to answer my question below?

there's a yellow button at the bottom that says "update" and that's where you make changes to that account. you dont need a username and password unless you're trying to upload photos if i'm not mistaken. to be honest, the only thing you have to do to upload photos is *pay* and i actually dont remember it asking me for a username and password....i guess they figure nobody's going to go out of there way to pay and upload photos to someone else's account unless they're legit. interesting...this is the internet after all. a million ways for people's accounts to get abused. click the update button and go as far as you can until it asks you to get an imdbpro account *if* it even asks you that depending on what you're trying to update. i have an imdbpro account but my profile got updated without me even logging in.
