Though, it has happened a couple of times...

The big crash of December '05 will remain a dark time in history.

I started writing a mini-script but accidentally hit my backspace button after hitting the tab key and it erased the whole thing...

Yea I remember a blackout. Was that Dec? Didn't Jarred upgrade the servers or the version of sofware or somthing like that?

It'd hurt. This is probably the only place I visit ritually online, now. Like tonight--

I was supposed to go to the movies, now I'm not. So, I'll sit here and scour DVXuser for nifty tid-bits while I yank my hair out over a re-write.

It'd be worse if DVXuser suddenly... vanished.

The Dec '05 crash (11:00pm EST Dec 7th 2005) happened when the first footage from the HVX was posted exclusivly by DVXuser.

I can't rember the exact specs, but I recall the server's bandwidth that day beeing in the magnitude of Terrabytes of throughput in the first hours. Poor DVXuser pulled 56,000 video downloads in the first 5 hours.

Mirror servers that were set up to host the footage were hit pretty hard too. I pulled over 400GB of bandwidth in December on my mirror. - And my mirror page is *still* one of the most requested pages on my site - even thoguh I took it down in January.
