Hi, im using the DVX 100A, great camera but i recently burned a DVD and i found that my mid shot and close ups of people had a small amount of noise in them around the face and edges, kinda looked like it was too sharp or something. Its hard to explain, its nothing to do with the authoring of the DVD as when i added a bit of dufusion in post it went away, just wondering how to make my shots more cleaner and clearer, what setting in the scene file should i be changing? Cheers.

Try dropping the detail level down a couple of notches, and/or raising the detail coring up a couple of notches, and turn on the skin tone dtl function.

Cheers Barry, as always great help. However i just checked the detail level and its 0 should i drop it to -2?

The detail setting of "0" doesn't mean "none." It's the mid-level setting. "None" -- no edge enhancement -- would be -7.

So, yes, drop it down a few notches.
