Image shift

Hopefully someone knows what's going on here. I shot a workshop
over the weekend and when I went to look at the footage there's a
few times while I'm doing a pan that the whole image shifts or jumps then
returns to normal. I was shooting dvcpro50 at 60i. I did see it do on the
LCD while shooting.

Any ideas?

Thanks

That's been mentioned before and is being blamed on the OIS. If you are shooting on a tripod and panning, the camera won't always be able to tell if the movement is intentional or not, and it may fight your pan until it hits the limit of its compensation ability, and then snap back to a neutral position.

If you are shooting on a tripod, in most cases I would turn off the OIS. There are a few instances where I have intentionally left it on (when shooting in gusty conditions at the beach, when filming on a sprung dance floor / stage etc.), but if you are on a tripod indoors on solid ground, leave OIS off.

Duh, just looked at the camera. The sound guy's sticky finger print in on the OIS button. Must have been off and on all day.
