Image not Clear

I've got a DVX-100b that is about 4 years old,
and recently I have noticed that the left 1/3 of my images have been slightly out of focus in some of my recordings. I always check focus before I record and the lens looks clean & completely smudge free.
I like the camera & know that it isn't gonna give me the HD quality HVX that the HVX can, but it almost looks like I am shooting my subjects in soft focus when they are in the left side of the frame. It seems to happen more often when I am shooing in 30p, if that means anything.
Anyone ever heard of this, or is there something else that I can check (or do) to try to get this problem taken care of?

Thanks,
Todd

A lens element could be loose and slightly tilted inside the camera causing that. I would contact a service center and have them diagnose the problem.

Todd,

I would open your iris completely and use a flash light to look in the lens. There may be sum residue on part of the lens or something like that. If the camera was subject to any kind of moisture it may have caused some of the lubricant from the lens mechanism or the focus ring to cause a slight film of haze on part of the lens.

Just a stab in the dark here but that's my only recommendation. Otherwise, you can check with our service department to see if they can fit it into their schedule to take a look at it. Or you can buy a new one. :) We can help you with that too.
