still looking to upgrade to HD(currently on a pc desktop with Vegas) and i haven't seen much posted about iMac's. i have an HVX200 with 32gb P2 card. the only real advantage i see is processing speed. wondering if i can do the same basics in Express as Final Cut Pro. i understand P2 and PCMS are now available for Snow Leopard.

any opinions, limitations ?

Express doesn't support anything 24p.

And also doesn't support p2 imports nor does it supply the DVCProHD codec.

In PM, kyleb asked me what I would do if with a budget of about $2500.

If you intend to edit DVCProHD on a Mac, I would get a refurbished MacPro or fast iMac, a good external FW800 drive, and FCS2.

At the Apple Store, you can get a 22 inch 3.06GHz iMac for $1000.

You can buy FCS2 off eBay, or get FCS3 from BH for about $829.00. A good hard drive from Caldigit (VR) would run about $600.00

Anybody else chime in?
