I'm ready to purchase the Sennheiser G3 wireless kit but unsure of correct frequency?

So BH sells this set at 3 different frequency ranges:
A/516-558 MHz
B/626-668 MHz
G/556-608 MHz

Does it matter which range I go with? It will be used for wedding ceremonies and indoor interviews.

Also, can anyone explain quickly what the difference between the EW112 version and the EW122? I know one comes with the ME4 mic and the other the ME2... I plan on using the supplied mic so is one better than the other?

Thank you,

The only difference in the 112 and 122 is the mic.

The omni (112) is definitely the best one to go for IMHO.

What if I plan on using the kit across many geographic areas?

Use the Sennheiser frequency finder to match the one closest to your primary location(s). These units are frequency agile, so you should be able to find a suitable frequency just about anywhere. New York, however, can be a pretty cluttered region. If you're traveling outside the US, you need to do some research as to which bands can be used there, since laws governing wireless transmission differ from country to country. It may be that you need to rent locally if you're traveling abroad.

I've used our company's kit internationally with only a hiccup once or twice. Solid wireless system for indoor (tradeshows) and outdoor (like jungles and afghanistan) usage! Not sure on which freq. range we have. I didn't buy them.

As a RF hell (aka, NYC) user, I can usually find an usable channels in my block 'A' systems, though there's no guarantee it will stay that way all day long. Same with my Block 21 Lectros.
Inside (hotels, buildings and such) is a lot less problematic.

I don't plan on using this in NYC or outside the country. Mainly in Upstate NY and eventually Southern California(though not LA).

Should I be alright with either of the frequency ranges? I can't imagine I won't be able to find ONE that works.

I'm in upstate NY and use the "A" block.... no problems to date... but check with Sennheiser just to be sure.
