I'm Lovin It

Just bought a laptop and though that’s not really any news you’d generally care about, I’m so happy with it I had to share. It’s an Acer Aspire 5002 with an amd 64 Turion cpu, 80 gig hard drive, 512 megs ram, DVD dual layer burner, 15.4 inch screen and I picked it up from the Source (formerly Radio Shack) for $899.00 cdn. It came with a free Canon pixma ip2200 printer worth around one hundred bucks. I was concerned that for that price it would be a bit of a dog! If it is a dog, it’s a Greyhound! The little sucker easily keeps up to my desktop P4 3 gig with 1.5 gigs of ram. It plays full on avi files from the DVD or hard drive without so much as a single hiccup. Photoshop loads in 3 seconds!
For the price, I’d have to say this wee machine is the cat’s ass. The only con is the sound delivered through the microscopic speakers kinda sucks. If you’re thinking of a laptop purchase, this unit deserves a look

Cool, I just ordered an HP laptop (spent about $1600 bucks on it). It should be arriving on Thursday! Congrats on the purchase!

Dude is it my imagination, or are Alienwares wayyyy overpriced? I just cruised to their site, and it's outrageous prices for what you get.

I'm on my 2nd Acer Travelmate, and I really like them.
Strong little things, take quite a beating from me.

Nothing super special about them, but a decent machine at least :)

wow those are kinda pricey. The way technology moves, I cant see spending more than $1600.00 for a laptop. But hey, thats just me...

Thanks for the link Isaac! I was looking for one of those, since my new laptop is a 3.2 ghz p4. I am sure it'll run insanely hot!

I have just read about a new technologie, which speeds up laptops. with this built in memory hardware Acrobat Reader loads in 0.4 sec without it (on the same laptop) it takes 5.4 sec. cool isn't it? but I think (if I could understand) it doesn't speed up rendering.

Yeah... I got my HP for a little over $1600 dollars and here are the specs:

3.2 Ghz. P4.
1 GB DDR RAM
60 GB 7200 RPM HDD
17 inch widescreen display
128 mb ATI video card
Win XP Pro.
Wireless LAN
etc.

Pretty good specs for the price...

Yeh, I'm probanly trippin because it's my first laptop:grin: I'm so used to working with client machines at work where you have time to go for coffee in the event of a re-boot. And I know some of them cost waaaay more than this little beast:thumbsup:
