I've used DIY steadicams before with so-so results, but I actually want to practice and get good at using the merlin, so is there a better method than just wandering around the house with it for hours at a time?
I'm buying a merlin, now how do I use it?

Merlin is a remarkable device with the right cam, properly balanced, and with a great deal of practice.
