I'm building me a new machine and wanna get a video editing/capturing system setup.

I'm building me a new Core i7 rig and I'm looking at getting some sort of video capturing system setup. The work iMacs my boss gave me was set by him, and I'm looking to get something for my personal rig. Any idea on how I should go about doing this? My budget is limited, but here's what I'm looking to do with it.

- Capture TV from television to computer/dvr system
- Import into Preimere or Final Cut Pro.

Then I'll just edit like I need it from there.

Now, my TV only has component video on it, so how would I get the audio and video to transfer over to my rig? The eMac my boss setup for me, takes video from the dvr system and routes it into a Slingplayer on the eMac. It is connected to an audio board, the iMac and DVR. I can then capture video within Final Cut Pro from the eMac live or record it to the DVR and capture it from the DVR.

I hope I was detailed enough, but I'm looking to get the same similar setup on my personal rig.

You do realize that capturing from broadcast/cable, and editing that into a project will constitute copyright infringement, right?
