Hey everyone! Just wanted to say hi, because I havent posted in a really long long time! I guess I became a bit of a hermit while I was working hard core on trying to build my business, Get Famous Productions.

Anyways, we just finished up our new website and now that I feel like i can relax a bit, it's back to the forums and time to learn again!

Not looking for pats on the back (learned my lesson on that a long time ago, ha ha!), I would genuinely appreciate your feedback which I give due consideration. Hm, maybe I've grown a bit. Eh, probably not. ha ha.

Please take this constructively, it's not intending to slam you in any way. I closed the page after about 5 seconds of the 'music' on your showreel, might want to go for something more neutral if you're prospecting for clients.
 
Parker! Glad you're back. I see you've gone more whimsical with your design. Nice touch and reaches out to the kind of clients you're going for. I like the music on the show reel and it's mainly because you aren't trying to get EVERY client out there. very focused business model.
 
just one thing, I would tur the video off and let the visitor turn it on if they want, this one of the thing I can't stand, you know when youtube starts byitself. just my two cents...

I think you guys are right about the video. the music is not up for discussion basically because thats part of the show reel and it was edited entirely around that song including typography and whatnot... and yes I am going for a certain demographic..

BUT, I don't wanna annoy people with it auto playing.. so thanks for the suggestion! I think I knew this all along but wanted to force people into watching my show reel as I put a lot of work into it!!! I will see what I can do!!!!

Auto play gets annoying after the first time you've been to a page so I def agree with the suggestions to kill it. Keep the music! Do not try to be everything to everyone, you seem like you know where you are right now and where you wanna go... stick with those instincts.

Another vote for removing that autoplay feature. Just make it very obvious where the showreel is with the option for prospective clients to press play.

I'm not a professional critic of websites, but I like the layout, everything moves well and it looks like you have been busy producing music videos.
 
Cool, yeah I already emailed my designer about the auto-play thing so should have that fixed up pretty soon I think..

Glad you like the layout! A lot of work went into it. I'm a perfectionist so I kept thinking of little details to add but eventually you have to stop... ha ha.. I'm really glad it appears we've been 'busy producing music videos' cuz the truth is we havent been that busy!

I hope this new web site will help those potential clients who might have hesitated before make up their mind to go with us. Spent the weekend covering downtown Vancouver with flyers!

Anything else wrong with the site besides that video?

oh yeah, we are adding one new feature this week, which will be a text area to the left of the videos on the music video page (when selected) that lists the entire crew involved... gotta give credit where credit is due, and music video dont usually have a credit roll at the end. :)
 
The intro text looks weird the way it's zooming in. Are you using an image for the quotes? If you are, don't do it that way. Embed the font and have it zoom on actual text. It will also make the file smaller... ;)

I stopped the auto-playing video on the main page and also added a new feature tonight.. the crew info for each video in the music video section... check it out! its neato completo!

I dunno, I just remember a hilarious thread you made when making your way across the country for some reason and looking for places to stay the night. I guess I should have said, my favorite migrant dvxuser member, because i'm not sure if you were hitchhiking or just homeless. :)
