I used to be on here all the time!! I miss this place.. I'm happy to say I have been kinda BUSY though.. BUT I just cut my 09' reel and would love some comments from the group.. You guys are always the first I will turn to for comments and questions..

I love to answer questions, so feel free to ask anything!!

Also, recently I sold MY first film I shot entirely with the HVX-200 to LIONSGATE!! It's available on DVD right now.. it's called "KNOW THY ENEMY" This is in no way a pitch to sell you the movie, we made our money already, but if you want to see a movie shot 100% on the HVX-200 + RR micro, check it out (NETFLIX/Blockbuster (in store and online) BEST BUY, Amazon, pretty much EVERYWHERE!!) Tons of behind the scenes footage and commentary as well!!

Thank you all again for helping me when I needed it!!

there is some really good stuff in the reel, but the biggest problem for me is im not sure what youre trying to showcase...? shooting, editing, directing? id like to hear some sound FROM what im looking at. simply laying the song over a random hodge-podge of interspersed clips makes it hard to sort out whats going on.

Hey Justin!

Congratulations on your success with Lions Gate! That sounds like quite an achievement.

I thoroughly enjoyed your reel. Quite a few good shots in there. I love the ones of the boxer going down the stairs, that looked awesome!

A few small things stood out to me though. At the same time the lyrics kick in, you cut to a shot of a female talking and it almost looks like she is the one singing until a few moments later when her mouth doesn't match the song. It weirded me out a bit when I saw that. Also, after the shot of the truck on the highway (great color btw) there is a single black frame before it cuts into the next shot.

One other thing, the last shots in your reel are of the sunset. The jump cut between the two shots is somewhat unfitting considering you didn't have any other jump cuts in the video. Might I suggest you have that as a time lapse shot and when the second beat comes in, cut to normal speed of the sunset?

Anyways, great reel. I'm excited to see more of your stuff in the future!
