Young-H.Lee, WOW!!!! You can do more with ASCII than I can with Photoshop and 15 years of design experience. Nice stuff. Please tell me you copy and pasted that from another website. And what's that little guy doing up her nose?
ok, another in progress project...this is for a little spec commercal im workin on. we only see the alien for a bit towards the end. im building him using a piece of software that ive never used before called Zbrush....its a different way of modeling then other 3d packages...but once you get the hang of it, it becomes really fun to do organic things with it...and it lets you paint right on top of it. anyway, the alien is my first go around with it, im still not understanding alot of the tools...need more practice...
btw wacom tablet used for all of it as well...i love that thing...
if you any of you guys are into this sort of thing check out the website...
wow thats cool rich! Ive heard of zbrush quite a bit, didnt realize it was so powerful. are you still doing XSI?
yo, I am still working in XSi. I havent been focusing exclusively on it, so its coming along really slowly. But i have managed to reach a break-through point in the modeling and have been doing some decent stuff with SSS. here is a WIP.
I'm still struggling with the particle effects....argh, I cant seem to come up with anything convincing - then again, I havent really hit it hard yet. My next step is to attempt compositing using AE.
yo that looks great young! your getting the hang of it..congrats!
i will never leave xsi...im messing around in zbrush to see about an alternative way to model organic object. zbrush feels alot more hands on..like your actualy manipulating clay or something...not pulling points. anyway, zbrush definitly has some wierdness to it...not perfect at all. its actualy very much a pain in the ass at first, especialy if you come from a normal 3d app.
particle effects, are a *****....just keep pushing forward. diggin the machine you made man, texture that puppy up and render out some sexy shot will ya!
yea I watched that zbrush time lapse of the fish - holy cow, I was always wondering how you model organic objects like that - especially those details, it seems very well suited to making orgo objects, wonder if XSI can do something like that?? so far, iwth my machine thing, its just taking hours to make those little details (I draw polygons and then extrude them etc) - then again it should take longer since machines are more "exact"
hows ur alien coming along? can you texture in zbrush as well? I remember there was this program that Aaron Sims uses (well al ot of people use) but Aaron sims (the guy who designed the T-X in T3) that can make 3D textures well - not sure what it is, but seems capable enough
yo young...yeah xsi can totaly organic shapes. its just a different process. Aaron Sims uses xsi primarly from what i understand. he designed some cool creatures for constantine. i actualy have a few of his xsi creature models...they are very very well done. he rocks.
zbrush is very good at texturing as well. it creates damn near perfect UVs from what i have seen so far. i havnt gotten too far into the pipeline yet...so we shall see. but it looks promising.
yo mino, i like the detail in the waves and in the background trees and stufff...looks sweet man.
