hey guys i got a wacom tablet for xmas and have been messing around in photoshop with it...

i picked a little project that i have been meaning to do for a while and though this would be a perfect chance to bone up on using a wacom.

its for a short that id like to do at some point...it would actually be the beginning of a feature...but because the feature is giant in scope. i thought i would try to shoot the setup/opening for the movie...just to play around with how i might even aproach it...anyway, it takes place on the surface of this planet just as a star goes supernova.

I bought myself one too... been pissin my wife off by learning photoshop as I go. All I can do is this ****! But... My mom liked it.

yeah...some of the small flares are from the net that i used as elements...and i also found a few big images of the sun that i started with as well. the star bg is from the net, although i modified it alot.

Hey it's Wacom show and tell. I want to play too. Awsome pic Rich, you definatly have a good painting background. The reflective lighting is amazing and very photo realistic. A tablet is one of the most usefull tools that I have in my arsenal, and I would reccomend to anyone who does any kind of compostiting, rotoscoping or even greenscreening to pick one up. Since we're showing pics, here are a couple of recent photos that I did for my color photography class. I have taken the class before so I got to work on my own stuff.

Sorry for the nast water mark. These are a part of a series of 20 photos that I am doing about dreams, as well as part of a larger installation that will feature my short film, also about dreams.

Sharky -- I've been looking at your site since you put those pics up the first time... Do you have a good tutorial for rotoscoping? Did you do it in AE?

Thanks guys. the rotoscoping was actually done in flash and then broght back into my NLE for editing. Flash rocks for rotoscoping. Just put the video on the bottom layer, make a new layer and just draw on top. It took about 25hrs of rotoscoping, but it was fun.
As I am working on this project at the moment, I may be calling on people from this forum for more input. Basically I am expanding this project globally, I want to have people submit to me their dreams (not goals but sleeping) and then i will go through and visually interpret the feeling of those dreams. I don't want to hijack this post with my project, so when I get to that point I will post with more information. By the way P.K. loved your pic :) but why is the sun mad. IT looks like he is trying so hard to burn the surface of the planet, but just can't do it. He almsost looks constipated.
