Ikan Elements Fly Handheld Rig

I was looking at these handheld rigs by Ikan: http://www.ikancorp.com/productListing.php?CategoryID=54

They want $249 for the basic fly kit. Has anyone made something like this out of parts from other suppliers? Or does anyone have any ideas on how to make one and where to get reasonably-priced components?

DIY from cheesycam website. Look at these ideas using a flash bracket and optionally a straight bar.

It looks great but each Noga Cine Arm is $120. So you're looking at about $300 for a DIY. Way too much in my opinion. Compare to $30 for the cheesycam completely functional version.

Yeah, these look like a very reasonably priced option. I was looking at them previously. Good price. Versatile. The only negative is its weight -- 2.5 lbs. The $30 cheesycam model weighs in at a third that. But if you want the versatility of a shoulder system with handheld, this product is hard to beat in my opinion. Of course, I don't own one so I'm only commenting on what I've seen on the web.

I just got mine last week and i tested it out over the weekend. Very versitile and fairly well built. It's not a rock but plenty good for the price. Im now working out how im going to add some counterweight to it (should be easy because the ends are threaded) and my follow focus.
