I just thought I'd share this with anybody else having an uneventful easter.

SEARS.COM has an Aiptek A-HD PRO flash video camera for $75 TODAY ONLY

Yeah, I know... junky cam... etc. etc. but it's got pretty good reviews based on the normal price of about $150... and for a crash-cam, etc. I thought it was too good to pass up. Total cost was $87 to my door.

We'll see how it turns out... I've got low expectations... but I'm considering it a virtually disposable cam. Had I not stumbled across this today I would have been bummed for missing it.

I'd LOVE to see a fest where everybody had to use a crap cam like this... :cheesy:

Go to vimeo or youtube to see some video samples... that convinced me to give it a try for the heck of it.

No. Not spam if you are a third party sharing a deal with your buddies.
I had a flip Mino but the batter lost it's abaility to hold charge. I always regretted not getting the Aiptek because of the swivel LCD since what I was going to be using it for was vlogging. It's hard to shoot yourself when the screen is on the otherside of the camera like with the flip or an iphone.

The best film in my Video Production class was a horror film shot on a flip. I would buy this just to keep around, but I just ordered an HG10 + tripod so I need to keep cash for my project.

cdoutlet.com has them for $125.50 (shipped) which isn't that much more then $87 (shipped)... which was the total deal from Sears... but still... that's why I posted this. $87 total for a toy that shoots 720-1080p seemed worth it... especially if you search this thing... it's reviewed pretty well and most camera sites sell it at about $170.

Either way... it's not like you missed something that won't come around again.

I strongly advise anybody who read this thread (who is in the market for some random things... ANYTHING...) to frequent slickdeals.net and click the "hot deals" tab on sears.com... it only takes me a minute at some point per day to check it. Normally just once per day, but if I check for an interesting topic on DVXuser... before I close my laptop I usually take a quick look at slickdeals.

If you do a search on that site for things you may have wanted/needed... it'll blow your mind the deals that were available.

Here's a couple things I was in the market for... a new "handleset" for my front door... Home Depot had the exact one I wanted, normally $129 on clearance for $48... online only... and a place had $300 carbon fiber BOGEN tripods on clearance for $170... I missed out on both of those.

My brother could have saved $600(!) on a brand-new TV when I called him about it... and he jackassed around all day thinking I had my information wrong... as he wanted to be sure he could return his to costco (had to go in person)... then go LOOK at Sears (ironically, SEARS, again... had the very same TV he bought at COSTCO @ $1900... but SEARS had it for $1350... again, one day only... they had 'em in stock when I called him to say "we're bringing your tv back to costco"... but they were out of stock by the time we physically got to sears.)

Hey I'm just sayin'... that site isn't a spam site... it's regular people coming across great deals and posting about it. Sometimes it's major... but you can't be slow when it is.

EDIT: Yep, the deal appears to be toast.

However, keep an eye out. I got my Kodak Zi6 on sale for $70 at Office Max. There are great deals to be had on these things.

There was a $69 Creative VADO on there early this morning. That's probably what Horse posted.

Like I said... no panic on these things... that's for sure. There will be bargains popping up all the time. I haven't got any shipping confirmation from Sears as of yet... but I'm eager to see what an $80 camera can do (it makes me laugh just saying that).

This reminds me of the early years with the Oktava. I was so blown away at what you got for about a hundred bucks that I couldn't believe it.

If this thing impresses me like that I'll definitely share some video. After looking at what mom and billy-bob can do with one in the woods/backyard/etc. I wonder what the image may look like if a shot was actually LIT... or set up as carefully as you might normally?

Whatever... I'll let everybody know... hell... I may even do a fest entry with it :)
