F55: If the F55 looks half as good as the F65 footage I am sold

Just watched the trailer to Oblivion and After Earth, both shot on the F65. It looks amazing. So much better in my eyes than Alexa and Red Epic footage.

Do you guys think the F55 will be similar in look and resolution?

This footage is the closest thing I have seen that comes to the look of kodak 5219 film stock.
 
In a word-- yes. I think the F55 with the same color gamut as F65 as well as the electronic global shutter will come close to the F65. The look, I need not remind you, is also a function of camera settings, lighting and grading. But the wide color gamut is also a major factor.

I wish Sony would hype the trailer for Oblivion more and more and I hope they understand that they could make more money selling 10,000 F55s vs 1000 f65s and go for broke. I was absolutely shocked that it was not shot on Kodak film stock - absolutely gorgeous skin tones.

You might want to post that on the Sony Communities F5/55 board because Sony people definitely read those posts.

The F65 does produce the best image I've ever seen from anything, it's just too bad that it's the size of half a car... I'm currently downloading footage from the Aaton Delta to see how that looks. I faintly recall seeing an image from that camera before, and it had infinite highlights, it's rumored to go for $90K though.
