I think If Luc Besson had Directed "Revenge of the Sith" then it would have been really wierd but really cool!

For one instead of Grievous it probably would have been Gary Oldman as a sith lord that eats Jedi's or something really scary  . And there would have been a wierd love triangle between Padme, Anakin, and Obi-wan.

Any other thoughts on what other directors would have done with this movie?

i still think the only way to save the entire new trilogy was find out that obi wan was sleeping with padme and got her pregnant. cause then "LUKE I AM YOUR FATHER" (now has no powerful meaning) would have a new meaning and darth vader would never knew.

luc besson.... fifth element feel to the movie. which is a good thing.

Y'know...you're all gonna hate me, but SWIII feels closer to the "original" films than the first two did.

So do the old ones, if you look at them with fresh, current eyes. But I think III would have fit right in, if he hadn't gone with modern effects and styles.

I dunno.....I think the old ones kick ass. I have some younger cousins that just got into star wars recently....and were introduced by this prequel trilogy...and even they think the old ones are awsome. They are like 7 or 8 years old.

the old trilogy is timeless i think....

after watching III , i went back and watched "empire" and relived my childhood...sure the acting is pretty cheesy at times, but it's still magical for me.

I'm with you, Gen. They may hate both of us...

I've never tried to judge (any) SW movies as... well, movies. If I did I would find all sorts of problems like cheesy dialogue, amateur acting and whatnot. Those things aren't exclusive to new trilogy. To me Star Wars is a journey to some other world, some other time, if you will... not just movie experience. And as such the prequels are successful in bringing me back into that universe I discovered as a kid. Sure, they are too childish, too cheesy, too CGI, but all that doesn't really matter. Alright, I said it, go on and hate me...

I understand what your saying. All of the Prequels the first time I saw them I loved them...but as time wore on more of there flaws stuck out to me (not to mention i went to film school since then) But the originals are just well....magical...there great. I think alot of it was the fact that the acting was better. And CG while awsome still looks a little fake. A real R2-D2 thats shifting around and beeping I like more than the R2-D2 that flies around in the prequals.

No way dude!

JEDI falls into sucktitude when the Ewoks show up but Star Wars and Empire RULE.

What flaws? Outdated FX?

How amazing is it when Stormtroopers bust into the Blockade Runner or when we see Jawas for the first time?

How about the Cantina? (and I'm not talking about those lame ass cutesy EXTRAS George threw in there). How about Han Solo the first time he speaks or Chewy?

Star Wars rules 30 years later.

Way back when Lucas was prepping episode one, he originally was going to direct the first one and hand the reigns off to somebody else for 2 and 3. I believe David Fincher and Speilberg were the two that were mentioned. Imagine David Fincher's signature all over episode 3. WOW! Now, that would've been cool.

The original 3 are completely different to the current 3. Different tone, style, everything... If episode one was the very first Star Wars released, the franchise would have died there... Maybe made 75 mil [IMHO]

If Episode I had been released in the 70s it would have been even more a technical marvel than A New Hope was...... plenty of movies have made millions on EFX alone...

I meant if released now. I also meant that the hoopla was only there due to the originals. People flocked to the last 3 mainly due to the "geek factor" Would see anything remotely related to the originals....

We'll never know for sure...
