Hello folks of the good forum. If I'm in a version of Premiere that will not do the Advanced pulldown; I'm editing my 24p footage as 60i, correct?
So, in my capture and export settings, should I try to import and export the footage as progressive? I assume I'm just importing the footage as 60i, since the camera has already done the pulldown--it's export I'm more confused with...If I export MPEG-2 from Premiere, will my quality be any better as Progressive rather than interlaced footage? If the movie is edited interlaced anyway, will exporting it progressively even change anything? Does it combine the fields in some way to smooth the interlacing artifacts?
I'm assuming because of the process, that the quality should remain unaffected, but for some reason (legitimate or self imposed) progressive looks better to me....
Thanks for sharing your infinite and eternal wisdom.
