Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race and P2 HD

Same problem here on Windows with Internet Exploder 7, I can't get any of the videos to start playing.

Also, the photo navigation system is unreliable. Most of the time when I select a different category, it reloads the most recently displayed set of photos.

Nope,
I've clicked on all three video links on the right and nada.
Just keeps telling me to pick a video.
The bar at the bottom of the video screen keeps moving but no video is playin.

Not working for me either. I assume these are Flash videos?
I know QT 7.1.3 was hosing Flash videos.
I am still on QT 7.1
I know QT 7.1.5 is working well and not affecting Flash files.
I am sure it is just a coding error somewhere.

Greetings

I'm using Mozilla Firefox and the videos are playing just fine. :).

Big-big congrats to Panasonic for this coverage and sponsorship.

I'm not sure if anything changed on the site, but I tried it again here at home, still on XP with Internet Exploder 7, and it's working fine now. Ditto with the still photo selection, no more problems.

Everything was shot on either HPX2000s or HVX200s. I think, if I'm not mistaken, that everything on the Panasonic site is shot with HVX200s. The videos on the Iditarod site are being shot on both 200s and 2000s.

Guess the videos all work now,
at least on PC, running xp and opera browser...very nice footage, is that all 1080 or mixed with 720?

Now they are working....
Always good to see Jan.
What camera did you use to shoot the Greenscreen??

The HVX200. There are likely some shots of the Ceremonial start and the Re-Start that were shot by Barry with the 500, but the majority of the video on our site was shot with the HVX200.

Best,

Jan

If I understood correctly, Barry was saying only the 200 and the 2000.

Like many, I'm very interested in the 500. When/will we see some 500 footage, either on the Panasonic site or elsewhere?

Jan knows better than I do; she was in on the edit process (as well as being in the footage itself, so I'm sure she knows what cam was used for the greenscreen!)

For the main iditarod production the teams are using 200s and 2000s. The 500 was there for a couple of days and I got to shoot with it, doing the Ceremonial Start and the Restart, and I recognized a shot or two of mine from the 500 in the Restart footage. But for the interviews and greenscreen etc., Jan's saying that was all with the 200.

Okay, first of all congratulations to you guys that were involved in this. There must have been some pretty gruelling conditions out there.

Though I do have to take issue with Panasonics claim on their adverts that this is the first time the Iditarod has been covered from start to finish in HD. This is false. Sony did it with XDCAM HD last year to great success.

And this is pretty good for extreme conditions too!

Sorry Simon, it's not false, Sony's claim is. Had some interesting discussions with the head of PR for the Iditarod, and he mentioned sending a cease-and-desist letter to Sony to get them to stop making false claims about what they actually did up there.

Could you explain this Barry? The cameras were quite clearly used to shoot a documentary about the race (you can even watch it at the Sony site), so I'm not sure what the issue is?

What i got from the article is they shot some footage with the XD but did not cover the entire race as panasonic is doing.
