Idiotic things that only happens in films

Smoking is (still) cool.
Actually, I think smoking is getting cooler than ever.
It used to be everyone smoked. Indoors and outdoors.
It was considdered "cool", but seriously, if everyone does something it can't be cool imo.

Nowadays, when it's illegal in a lot of places and everyone knows how bad it is so hardly anyone does it, it's suddenly cool again.
It's like how not having a tatoo is cooler today than it is to have one.
Same with iphones and facebook.

The Zuckers made quite a good living making a number of movies based on exploiting movie clichès, starting with Airplane.

When people time travel, they don't end up in outer space. The earth moves through space at 29km per second. If you traveled instantaneously through time while staying in the same spot, there is very little chance the earth would still be in that same spot when you got there.

The matrix, spider-man, any hero high-jump, shock-wave landing... legs splayed... one hand up... one hand on the ground. (eye's up tripod landing... getting really cliche'... Colbert is making fun of it in his opener.)

suspended ceilings and duct work that'll hold the weight of a man not to mention being large enough to crawl in with convenient access points in every room.

You never get to see the actual sex. Only the last instance where the girl rolls off the guy and they both exhale.

Eh...you know...there's another form of entertainment that fulfills that need just fine. I really don't care if my movies are devoid of nudity and sex.

Speaking of ducts.

Lasers being used for security... not infrared beams like real security systems. Oh and often you can somehow see the beams perfectly, as if the room were mysteriously filled with even smoke.

I'm guessing you've been married a long time.....

Uh, well I have...but if you read my post more carefully...you'd have surmised that I fulfill that need with other forms of visual entertainment. I don't need to get it in mainstream Hollywood fare.
