GH5 IBIS: Wide Angle Jello?

Haven't noticed many issues with IBIS, but moving a wide angle lens (native 10.5 or 12 in my case) seems to produce some odd rolling/jello artifacts that I haven't seen at other focal lengths... normal? expected? Just turn off IBIS with these wides? If so, too bad, as IBIS would be really helpful here.

I guess the sensor could be moving too fast or too far, but with native lenses you would think it would know what to do or maybe know to turn it off.

Movement of the camera on a very wide angle is always a bit weird...it's like the edges of the image almost "bend"...at the moment I'm using a Tokina 11-16 with an XL speedbooster to get me to 7.4mm but even on a tripod with IBIS off, it happens...I don't believe it's the GH5...I haven't tested at what focal length it starts....12mm is fine...perhaps 10mm and wider starts amplifying the effect..,,not sure if this is what you're talking about, but it's what I experience on very wide lenses.
PS...by bend I don't mean RS.

I have a Laowa 7.5mm, Rokinon 12mm and Panasonic 15mm lenses that all work great with ibis on. I know you know, but make sure that e-stabilizer didn't get turned back on by accident. I have seen some issues when walking around with the 7.5mm as even with the fast sensor read out, it seems to magnify rolling shutter. On my mechanical stabilizer it works awesome always unless I bump it on something. I don't think it's the ibis, but just the nature of super wides in general.

Cheers,
Pete

Yet the masses screamed for IBIS waiting for the GH5 to be released. Sometimes maybe Panasonic would be better off not listening to feature requests.

I don't know, overall I love IBIS. It's been great. Only place I've really had an issue is on some of these wides, but per other posts, sounds like it may be more a side effect of the wide angle itself.

I own the PanaLeica 8-18mm zoom, what should I do to try and replicate this problem ?

I am curious to see if it's entirely a lens problem and nothing to do with the GH5 IBIS system.

I think it might be lens but not sure. Just go to 10.5 and 12mm and try to do some slow moving shots in and out handheld, or just move the lens around to a new position. It's almost like a minor wave effect. I don't recall it on AF100 or GH4.

I have noticed it both on the Leica 12mm and Voigtlander 10.5 (more extensively on the voigt). Haven't noticed it on the Lumix 12-35 wide end with Dual IS.

Is this a property of extreme wide angle? Or IBIS?

It really looks like he's got EIS turned on as well as IBIS.

I did a quick test with my PanaLeica 8-18mm lens in the 8-12mm range with a few different subjects and I did not see any type of abnormal distortion with IBIS ON and EIS OFF.

There is no mystery here. The jello you are seeing is simply the radical perspective change these ultra wide lenses give when you change the camera angle. When hand held the change in view is huge from a tiny movement. It has nothing what-so-ever to do with the IBIS. I get the same effect when trying to hand hold shots with this lens.

Here's a sample of a Laowa 7.5mm on a stabilizer at full 2x crop (15mm equiv) and the second scene with ETC on for a 2.7x crop (21mm equiv) with IBIS on.
