I wish there was a separate forum for the F3... can't find EX1/3 stuff here anymore.

I think there's still a strong base of EX1/3 users who won't be going F3 for quite a while, but that's all that's in this forum now is F3 tawk.
 
F3 is the shiny new toy. Also, with the EX 1/3 being out for awhile, and being solid cameras with well known strengths and limitations, there's just not as much to talk about. Activity on this forum was pretty light up until the F3.

All that being said, yes, F3 talk is dominanat here now, and will be for a bit. Until it is washed away by the new NXCAM ;p

True dat, no doubt... but the shiny new AF100 has its own forum, but then again, this is a Panasonic site. I regularly perused this forum for the EX1, but the other site still has its own EX1/3 forum and separates the F3. It's cool, just a suggestion for the site administrator if he/they wants to keep the EX1/3 users here.
 
I agree with you, Buck. I drop by almost every day but my lowly EX1 doesn't get much love these days. Here....I'll try....."HEY, what's the best microphone to use for interviews?" There....I said it....no....wait....that's an audio thing. Dang, this is hard. Hey! SD cards...good or bad idea? Discuss.
 
I use SD cards almost exclusive for my EX3. I only use the 8 gig sxs card as a back up if my other card fills up. Plus since I never shoot in 24p I can overcrank without any fear of errors when using the SD card. I use a Sandisc Ultra II 16 gig.
 
That's funny because I was thinking that the F3 has taken over!!
I do like reading about it and I hope SONY has a major hit on their hands with it.

Maybe an F3 forum is needed however...
 
If you have seens an F3, you would not think that it is a replacement for EX series.
It is twice bigger and heavier and use PL mount, so lenses cost usually more than the camera itself.
Yes it use the same batteries and SxS card as the Ex serie, and many buttons, features looks the same.
but since it is PL mount, no electronic lens (focus or mount) available.
it is a totally different beast, in shape, price, and use.
I just set my Ex1 next to it and looked at both lcd, the picture was not looking very different.

FYI it does have lens elec contacts on mount for lens info on PL's and elec zoom servo lens to come in fall. Hopefully with no auto focus, that no one needs, or will trust with 35mm DoF.
 
Buck starts a thread complaining about how F3 talk has taken over this forum and what happens? F3 talk takes over his thread!

Come on mods, give the F3 (and NXCAM) its own forum.
 
Ok no talking about the F3 in Buck's thread! It's like talking to your "EX" wife about your new girlfriend. Pun intended. I too am bummed that I can't see any EX1 posts here. I am usually over in the Audio forum where there is much more action, but Like to peek in to see if there is anything new for the EX1, as in new recorders like the Nanoflash etc. I'm not interested in the F3, and it's totally taken over. I don't want to go to the inferior forum for EX1 news! But alas, here I go now...
