I want rocket launchers on my truck!

18 y.o. "college student" hit me today on the freeway. He was going 85 on the 210 because he was "late to class", traffic was going 70 easy.

He tried to cut between me and the car following me and clipped me pretty good. My Explorer has about 3-4,000 in damage. I was lucky I know how to correct for rear end slippage and lucky the airbags didn't deploy.

Thank God for full coverage and a rental rider.

Wanted to beat the living sh*% out of that guy. I have had a clean driving record for 10 years. Personally, I want to take this idiot and beat him until he understands if you have a scheduled arrival, leave earlier, rather than driving faster.

Take this as a lesson: if you hit me because you are late and speeding, I will want to $%$ you up in a way your mother never imagined.

That sucks Doc. I am glad you are safe, 85mph collisions have a high mortality rate, you are lucky to be around still.

I can relate, I was rear ended twice in Burbank a few years ago. Twice in the same day, 8 hours apart! At the same intersection no less. No major damage or injuries. Be thankful you are alive. There are a lot of morons on the roads out there.

glad your ok, like they always say:

we can make safer cars, shame we can't make safer drivers..

Or weed out those that shouldn't be driving in the first place. I won't bore you with my consideration of this guy's dreamt of untimely demise, but needless to say, it is painful.

"Late to class", glad to hear you value my life as such, especially considering how much being lte to class would of cost you.. He has no idea the back story and how I would have dealt with this a number of years ago. I am proud of myself for keeping to my ideals. But the thought had crossed my mind to deal with it in my way (abandoned mine shaft, a little corrosive fluid, Crucafixition, and emmasculation.

I was driving my car one beautiful Sunday morning when an old lady (around 80) ran a red light because she was late for church. She fully admitted it.

Myself, my daughter, who was just a baby at the time, and my dog all walked away virtually unharmed. Aside from some minor scrapes and bruises.
The car was a total loss and the police and firemen that showed up all told me countless times that had she T-boned us we probably would have ended up as statistics.

Count yourself lucky and just be happy that you were able to walk away.

I never hated her for it, I just thought she was an idiot. :)

I was more focused on being happy to be alive. Go kiss the wife and kids if you have any and count yourself lucky. Cars can be replaced.

I'm sorry about the idiot that caused this BS for you... last year I was rear-ended at a red light... a STALE red and this woman plowed into me without ever hitting her brakes!

BTW I found out after that incident that 1) in a negligent case ALWAYS get a lawyer... ALWAYS... and 2) SAFECO INSURANCE SUCKS! They were the worst ever to deal with... the WORST! I will tell as many people as I can for the rest of my life what a crappy business they run... it was endless BS.

Finally... it's too bad nobody is addressing your real point in this thread. Dude when you put rocket-launchers on your truck be sure to mount that sh*t on a roll-bar or luggage rack. That way when you re-sell your vehicle you won't have anchor points mounted in your clean body panels... just in case the next buyer doesn't want the rocket-launchers on there (although I have no idea why they wouldn't)... also... if possible mount them hanging out to the side so that the launch slag doesn't blister your paint.

wait ... don't worry about that. You get a rocket launcher, and I'LL buy it when you're done.

It could be worse, glad your ok. Back in the day I bought a special custom built corvette with a supercharged aluminum block 900+ horespower engine (a Calloway twin turbo eater). It was built buy a guy who builds Indy cars. The paint job on it alone cost $30k, it was a very expensive and special car.

The day I bought it was on my birthday and driving it home from the dealership a girl pulled out in front of me and totaled the car. Talk about being pissed but man this girl was soo hot.

Two years later on my birthday I was out one night and met a smokin' hot girl, I told her me and 2 other couples are taking a little 6 seat plane to St Loius tomorrow night bar hopping and invited her. It turns out it was the girl who totaled my car. We had a blast!

It might have taken a couple years but she definitely got a rocket launcher.
