Outstanding film- wow!
The DVX detail wise held up pretty well on the film-out. On the tighter shot, the detail was impressive given it's DV origins. As expected the wide shots fell apart a bit more.
My question is regarding the color. Is it just the nature of the beast when transferring DV to 35mm, that the color is going to wash out? The detail of the transfer was much more impressive than the color fidelity. I haven't seen enough dvx-100 transfers to have a frame of reference. I'm wondering if more could be done in the transfer process to retain more saturation ?
I'd appreciate hearing from those in the know.
