i only have a 16 gig and two 4 gig sdhc cards? can i download my footage via laptop.
Meaning when i am in the field ,can i just simple put the sdhc card in my reader and load into my macbook pro and drag and drop. it to the desktop . now i know i can do this but the question really is is that i do not have my fcp 7 installed in my macbook pro yet i still have fcp 5.1.......so basically i am just gonna use the laptop as my portable hardrive and off load the footage and then reformat the card and re use it since i only have so many cards and i have to shoot a long ass catholic weeding...i just anted to make sure i wont be messing anything up by just using the laptop as a portable hardrive.....then later i will go hame and transfer that footage again to another hardrive and then i will install the fcp 7 after i wipe my drive clean on the macbook pro for the fresh install........wowwww..that was alot of typing.
 
I just got my 150 yesterday. btw - its amazing!
Anyways, some may argue this, but I think the best was to import footage and have it convert and everything is via iMovie.
 
imovie? okay...do i just put my sdhc card in the laptop and open up imovie and import? and another question my laptop only has fcp 5.1 and my mac pro has fcp 6....so in the field can i ofload my cards via iweb and just save the footage then when i get home transfer the folders with the files in it to my mac pro?
