I Need Help!!!

I am in need of a "Decent Camera" that will have good enough quality to shoot Indies, Docs & Music Concerts. I need low light capabilities due to alot of my writing being Noir.

I have done alot of research and still need help!!

What I have come to need ->

Cinelook feel - preferrably something that is NOT interlace and has frame by frame capabilities.

Manual Shutter speed

Manual Focus

Manual Aperture

Manual White Balance

Zebra Capabilities - I am new and do not want to Overexpose anything.

I don't need anything to fancy like HD, I would rather use Ingeniouty(sp?) for good shots than 5 Grand.

I have looked into possibly the GL series, the DVC30 or 60 and I would love to have a 100a or b but I am recently married, I have dDiabetes and a newborn son. As you can see my finances are tight and I will be relying on helpful hands and hard labor rather than large Budgets to create my projects.

I know you might say, WHY NOT RENT? to answer that question I have to say that I have alot of projects that need completion and by the time I rent for everything I want to shoot I would have spent enough to buy like 5 DVX 100b's.

BUDGET: I can spend no more than $1300.00. I know this is "CHUMP CHANGE" and I am probably out of luck, but could someone please point me in the right direction or lend a helping hand.

Thank you so much in advance for all of your replies :)

Hmmm....you say you already have a lot of projects...but no camera? Very odd...

I write screenplays and then they go to a shelf to sit. I have finally gotten to the point where I would like to start turning them into film. I have always had a desire to make films but obviously money is always an issue. Writing does not cost a thing. Hence why I have many projects ready to go.

Well, this being a DVX forum, you are going to get people suggesting you save up for a DVX. Chances are, you can find an original DVX100, from $1500-2000. So, keep your eyes open.

So you think I could get a DVX for $1500.00 without it being a scam?

A used one, maybe. NBCShooter was selling one at $1500 or so. Either way, you'll need to get it professionally cleaned because the hours are going to be up there on the heads, but you most likely can find a used DVX for around that price. Just keep your eyes focused on the marketplace.
