I need help to firestore fs-100 250GB

Hi everybody, this is my first time in this forum. I'm from Peru, so my mother language isn't English, I hope that you could excuse my mistakes

I recently bought a Hvx200 and a Firestore FS-100 250GB. I had some problems trying to record in the FS-100 but finally I can did it, but when I connected fs-100 to my comtuper, it can't recognise the fs-100. I can't understand what is the problem, furthermore, my computer is old, :badputer:a pentium 4 with a geforce 6200. I will buy a new soon, but I feel worried.

I used a 1394 cable 6 pin to 6 pin. I purchased this camera without p2 card, so I didn't install the p2 cd and, if I would like doing that, I won't, because is necessary a p2card.

Make sure you are connecting everything right first. Then check your FW cable to make sure it's not bad.

- Connect the FS100 to the computer thru FW400
- Turn on the FS100
- Scroll and locate the HDD and click enable
- Next the two harddrives icons should pop up on your computer

If not I'd contact http://www.focusinfo.com/ and ask maybe about a driver for you model computer.
 
Thanks twocik23, I did exactly you said, but none happened.
In fs-100 menu, in HDD MODE I choose DD DRIVE and the next window i have to press ENABLE, but when i do that, FAILED appear in the fs-100 screen.

did you do the "organize P2" step on the firestore? i have not used one in a long time, but last time i did, that was a step you had to do before the computer could see the content
 
Also, make sure that when you are connected via firewire to your computer that you are connected to the computer I/O of the Firestore and not the DV I/O. These are located on the top of the Firestore.

Yes I checked, I use the the computer I/O. I hope tha problem is connected whith a driver, I suppose my computer need one.
 
Guys, I managed conncet the firestore, but to my nothebook friend. I'm not sure about that, because in the quick start guide said that the conecction by a firewire cable 6-pin to 6-pin, nevertheless my friend's computer use a firewire cable 4-pin to 6-pin. What do you think about?

I will continue doing more tests. What kind of cable do you use with your firestore? and What kind of connectos have you firewire card got, 6 pin or 4pin?
