Hi, I`m John and I`m looking for a DP that knows his HVX well.
First I need to set the minimum requirements.
1. Must have a lens adaptor. Like an Mk2 (shots need to be very cinematic) This is a ten page short based on a feature.
2. Large HD monitor. Need to see what we have to build the shot when needed.
3. Must have your own crew. You must handle camera-lights-sound.
4. Lights: The more the better, I have some, a few Lowells, only a couple of dusk shots, all others are
(int. - night)
5. Sound: Direct to camera is fine, I have a shotgun sennheiser we can use.
6. All clips must be delivered on a 1394 hard drive. I will edit on my G5
7. 720p is fine. There will be some slow motion shots. Track will be rented for many shots.

The look: For this rent "2046" - I believe Christopher Doyle was the DP. Yes I am setting my target very high as I should be. This is a ten minute short that stands on it`s own. (not a trailer) and will be used to hopfully help find capital for the full feature. There will be lots of saturated reds and greens. This is not an action shoot. It`s a romance/sci-fi/noir.
This is a paid shoot. 4 weekend nights. 6 hours each night. Fri, Sat, and then another Fri, Sat. Starting around 630pm or 7pm. If funding for the feature is obtained, I will recall those who worked on the short for the feature.
Please refer back to the guidelines above before submitting a bid. These items are the bare minimum I will need.
I hope its okay to submit the job on this site, I didn`t know where else to go. Rental houses don`t come with a DP that has any passion. I`m a huge fan of the HVX and RED, and have always wanted to work with a DP that knows his camera.
